That is the best way to describe Everett during the day-content. He will usually sleep 7-9 hours at night and then sleep several more hours through the morning and early afternoon. When he is awake though, he is usually happy laying on the floor or in his vibrating chair. He does prefer that I am in the same room though! He loves to lay on the floor or bed and just watch the ceiling fan-great distraction when I need to get ready! He also absolutely loves to be talked to, he will crack a smile as let out some precious baby noises as soon as I open my mouth. I love playing with him during the day!

I cannot believe my baby is 6 weeks already! He is growing way too fast for me! I took him to the dr. for his 1 month check up and the dr. was quite shocked at how big he is. She said she did not expect Ivan's brother to be anything but small. Compared to Ivan, I do feel like Everett is so big. He is just so much more solid than Ivan ever was. His measurements are:

Weight: 10.2-50th percentile

Length: 22.5-75th percentile

Head: 37.5-25th percentile

Personality!

Everett is now 5 1/2 weeks and is really starting to form a personality. He has makes lots of goofy faces and is starting to smile more and more. I love this phase where he is starting to coo, play with his hands and show us his world. I can't wait for the next several weeks as he starts to laugh and "talk"

Happy Father's Day!

Ivan thinks cornhole should be played by putting your legs in the hole-makes it a little difficult for others to play!

We headed out to my parent's house for Father's Day on Sunday and had a wonderful time! We took the kid's swimming and were able to spend the day visiting and relaxing. The boys and I both feel very lucky to have such a wonderful husband and father and enjoyed spending such a fun filled day with daddy! Ivan also enjoyed spending lots of time with his Paw Paw! Paw Paw has had a rough time this past year and continues to be challenged with health problems. We all love Paw Paw very much and hope that gets well soon so that he can continue to chase Ivan around the yard!

Sunglasses and Smiles

Just a few pictures of out little cuties. Ivan has enjoyed playing with my sunglasses lately. You would think that the finger prints left all over the glasses would encourage me to keep them out of sight. Apparently I am not quite that smart! Everett started smiling around 3 weeks and has been smiling more and more over the last few weeks. He loves it when we talk to him and will let us know by giving us a big smile. I think his smile lights up a room :)

Hat, Mitten, Water and a Potato Head

Apparently a hat and mitten are needed for water play on a 90 degree day. He insisted that he needed to wear them. It took a lot of convincing, but he finally took off the hat after about 15 minutes of playing and then the mitten a few minutes later.

Tired after a long morning of playing!

This is the Potato Head he created when he came inside for lunch. We thought it was very funny that he had all of the right pieces, just not in the correct location.

Brotherly Love

These photos capture what is often taking place in our house. Ivan is always asking to hold, touch, hug or kiss his baby. He wants to be near the baby at all times and rushes to him when he cries. If Everett cries while we are in the car, Ivan will first alarm me that the baby is crying. He will then tell me that he needs me to move his seat closer to the baby and will then repeat "it's ok baby" over and over. He also refers to him as "my baby" which I think is so funny. I am so amazed at how much he loves him!
I am not sure why he is licking his head in the bottom photo, but I LOVE it!
